From Notting Hill to Holland Park


On one of our last mornings staying in Notting Hill, we went for breakfast at Electric Diner right by our house. Its one of those places we return to again and again, for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a couple of drinks…

Saif had the eggs benedict and I had the avocado toast with a large slice of lemon. I have a weird thing with lemon – doesn’t it just make everything in life better? I put large amounts of lemon on everything, especially on avocado…

Then we decided to walk around for a bit, to walk off the breakfast and explore the area. We sadly learnt that our favourite rock n’ roll gin-bar, Portobello Star, had shut down last month due to a change in management. I had really looked forward to come back and revive our memories from last year.

From there we strolled a bit further up the hill and reached Holland Park. It’s such a beautiful place. We even explored the Japan-inspired Kyoto gardens. Since we recently visited Japan together and fell in love with the country, this was a special place…
