Back in my happiest place…

Monsoon is finally over and done here in Bombay, which means I can get my weekly-pool routine back on track. Sunday is officially my favourite day again, because Sunday means I can spend the day at the pool. Preferably alone. That might sound really odd to some, but I genuinely prefer being alone on Sundays, at least for a few hours in the afternoon. I think it’s safe to say I’m the happiest when I’m in and by the water–Saif and I often joke about me being a fish in my past life!

This weekend in Alibaug I kicked off my first tan of the year, and as you can see in the last photo, where the sun isn’t shining on me, I turned quite red despite constant layering of Piz Buin. Luckily the red has turned into brown today, and no peeling in sight so far–fingers crossed I won’t look like a leopard by the end of this week.

Devika, Reyna and I discussed Indian sun over the weekend – it’s actually so much stronger in India than anywhere else I’ve been. I’m quite scared of burning my skin badly, and after a terrible sunburn a la blisters sometime around this time last year, I try to be extra careful. I use sunscreen-factor 15 right now, but perhaps I need to step up my game to 30 or something…
